This is a neat little driver but the handle is a little short otherwise it seems ok for the price.

The 1/4" end is the breaker bar end, so you don't risk the ratchet on stuck screws.

The box end came in handy for me. I was removing an old wall mounted pencil sharpener with the impossible to reach screws. The ratchet head was a little to big to engage one the the screws, the box end did the trick.

I have one of these. I used it to put hinge screws inside a doorway of a miniature doll house. It worked good. The door was too small for a cordless drill or screw driver.

I have the Stanley set, and it came with more bits and a case. I was thinking about picking up the Craftsman set, too.

I have a VIM ratchet very similar but smaller. The non ratcheting end captures the bits so you can use cut down bits.

I have an older version of this craftsman bit ratchet. It comes out straight and not angled. I have never used it though.

One common complaint with this bit rachet is if you apply to much downward force on the fastener, the retaining ring falls out and the action comes loose. It can be repaired by putting the ring back but not cool in the middle of the job to have to deal with that.

Is this one small enough to fit in an Altoids kit?

Not sure if you have seen the titan 11318 swivel head micro bit driver but it is quite nice. I picked it up along with your recommendation of the almost identical 90 tooth micro 1/4 ratchet!

Another thing to remember is you can get some 1/4" hex sockets that this can work with.
A compact Black & Decker one comes to mind ( shudders, and ducks the Brickbats) BUT you are not using an EDC set like this to do suspension work either.
Get a descent Cordura, or Nylon Pouch, get this driver & Bits, and some 1/4" hex sockets.
Now you have a handy compact EDC Socket set that you can grab and amaze everyone with LOL

Is the flat type better than the angled one for tight spots?

I used the open end on that ratchet to take out a torx waterpump bolt in a pinch with a cheater bar and it worked like a champ. Very impressive for a bit ratchet. I use it everyday, and have had no problems.

Im sorry tot hear that about Lowes policy Catus..i am with you it is sad about Craftsman

Having no case and costing that much kill it for me. There are a lot of these on Amazon for less with more. The lifetime warranty would be valuable if Lowes actually stood behind it. Does anyone know the length of the wrench? 4" seems too small.

Nice little tool I may be getting one today. You're right Lowes may be destroying Craftsman name. Thank you Catus for another good video. Take care.

Bought this when I needed to get in a tiny spot. Had to grind down the phillips head hex end to get it to fit in the area I needed.

HF is taking advantage of Craftsman's lousy warranty. They up their price to match Craftsman, they still have the no hassle warranty to fall back on. Good job Lowes.

I keep saying this everywhere, and we need to spread the word! If Lowes does this to you, you must get the manager on duty's name as well as the location address of the Lowes and report them to Craftsman head office (you can email them online). If they do this, they are in violation of their contract with Craftsman if they don't honor the warranty in the way it always was before at Sears: equivalent item, no questions asked. Craftsman will contact them and educate them. But its our duty to hold them honest. Report them!

Personally, I have had a normal old-school Sears type experience at Lowes, but I've only tried at one Lowes location. They just look at me with a smile and said to grab the equivalent replacement. Went back to the register for a quick swap, and then out the door.

What do you think of the Harbor Freight Dremel tool knock offs? I think they have them in Drill Master, Bauer and Chicago Electric brands. The Drill Master brand is only $6.99 and is an 80 piece kit. Might be worth it for a couple of jobs?
