I know Raj became more of a jerk as the seasons went by, but that also came with a hell of a backbone. I can't see the Raj of the early seasons stand his ground against Penny like this or cut off his friendship with Howard due to the latter's frequent verbal abuse, even if it was temporary.

What I never understood about this one is that since he was listed as the discoverer on the form, he gets to name the comet, so why not just name it after Penny? He still gets the professional credit and can tell people he's naming it for his friend (which he could just play up socially), and she gets the prestige being attached to it. Honestly she'd probably care more about the comet itself bearing her name than the paperwork.

I know Raj take credit for himself is a jerk move, but Penny not suppose to upset that much . I mean, she's not a scientist, it doesnt change anything if Raj put her name from the first time. All her (nerds) friends know her contribution. But can you imagine how devastating it for Raj' reputation if he renouncing his own founding just to add Penny's name (even if that the right thing to do) ?

Astrophotographer here: It's funny because Penny pressed the zero on the handcontroller for the telescope mount where no camera is attached. With a button press like that you just set the speed for the telescope mount when you are slewing manually. And even if there is a camera sensor, you can't take a picture of a comet like that. it's just not that easy. So the whole discussion here in the comments of "who discovered it" is just wrong, because you can't use the gear like that.

The funniest thing about this is the fact that from a light polluted roof like they are at it'd be darn near impossible to see much of anything visually besides a few of the brighter stars.

It's so messed up how people are really like that. Like when it comes to their work.. NO ONE can put their name on it even if they're helping. But when they even do the tiniest thing to help or give equipment... they act like they did everything. Poor penny. They kept telling her it was nothing, and she kept pushing and pushing. And was right. To get nothing.
