I have one of these!! I modded mine to be a black and gold one with gold humbucker sized p90s by Seymour Duncan. It’s now my favorite guitar

I have one of these and as soon as I got it-for Christmas!- it became a favorite!. I haven't modified it, I think it's great the way it is.

I bought it and threw a roller tree and a strap on it. I gave it to a friend and likes it and uses it as a secondary guitar.

I don't think that they hate overpriced guitars or Gibson and other US-based companies would go out of business.

Your lap steel to pedal steel idea makes so much sense, i think it applys to "regular" guitar too, but a cheap classical or acoustic first or along side your electric coz then the ease and pedals of electric will be a benifit not a crutch

I bought a squire and it only took almost twice what I paid for it to make it playable.

Yeah man, put some good humbuckers in this guitar & you'd have a VERY cool guitar!

I used to vaguely dislike Teles for some reason, when Fenders and good Fender clones are my favorite guitar type. Always loved Strats, Jags, and I have a Duo-Sonic from 1963 which I bought during the 90s for $100. What was wrong with me, I’ve got major Tele GAS now.

The pickups are not all that bad really. They have decent string definition, but are a bit too harsh in the highs for me.

The rare ones are actually the ones with Wide Range pickups & a 70's headstock! But they kinda look like this.

What’s supposed to be horrible about “ceramic”pickups, lol. The Flying V I had to sell for ramen noodles had ceramic pickups, and I never knew it til some tech told me. They sounded great to me. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a man-bun and a beard with rubber bands in it.

It's more about who's playing it than it is about the mods. All of the best aftermarket goodies can't make you play better. There's likely nothing wrong with the guitar other than adjustments. And thankfully, they're built to be adjustable. Just watch Jack Pearson play his Squier, and you'll see what I'm saying is the truth.

lol! if you don't like ceramic maybe ceramic don't like you! I have ceramic, alnico II and V and they all sound good to me. Now the Paranormal Squire Esquire It is a must to get $250.00 Fender Cufe Wide Range pickup, because it is so chimey!
