does it ANNOUNCE to the other party they are being recorded when you press that button or only to you. i don't want them to know.

some situations you can legally record people if there is no initial expectation of privacy and you don't need to announce it. however, to make it crystal clear it can be helpful to announce they are being recorded to avoid any confusion later on. but like in court the court may decide it was legal and by not announcing they was record you might of caught them saying stuff they normally wouldn't of said.
