How to prepare Botox for injection

If you're a new injector, then preparing Botox for the first time can feel daunting. In fact, when I received my first ever Botox vial I phoned the distributer because I thought they'd sent me an empty bottle. Turns out that wasn't the first time they'd heard that!

Needless, to say I learned something new this second time..hence I should pay more attention to detail but I had the problem of losing almost 100 units of a 200 unit vial because when I pulled the syringe out I didn't "make sure it was out of the liquid before pulling the needle all the way out!" How do you get the metal ring off so you can pull the rubber stopper out?

This was a great demonstration. Just wondering if you hVe heard that flicking the BD syringe was bad bc it releases chemicals from the plastic. Would love to know your thoughts on this.

If you are planning to take the rubber stopper out then why not take it out first and just add the saline without worrying about the vacuum and therefore bubbles? Is it so that you can mix it with the vial stopper in place?

As you've diluted 100UI with 2.5 ml of saline, it wouldn't be 1:1 ratio. Do you keep that in mind? Or you just consider that dilution as 1:1 anyways

Since the toxin is in pressurized vapor form, wouldn't you lose some of the product by letting the air pressure release with a needle?
