I definitely understand why people get Botox. But I miss when people were natural humans and not completely obsessed with looking like flawless cartoons. I feel like we're moving more and more away from our natural world and its wrong

So, I have a theory. Botox may diminish your wrinkles but it doesn't necessarily make you look younger. This woman here looks like she's in her mid-20s. But when she got botox and looked more flawless, it made her look older somehow. Call me crazy. When the botox gave her no wrinkles, she looked more 'uncanny valley' and therefore older because she was hiding her slight signs of aging which is hiding what is natural. I think this only works for women in their 20s and mid-30s though. But yeah, its all about looking natural. I think the key to youthful looks is some wrinkles but no loss of facial structure. She eliminated her wrinkles and therefore almost changed the natural structure of her face with it. This made her look less natural, therefore, older.

Why though? Everyone gets wrinkles when they lift their eyebrows. I really don’t understand why people in their 20s and 30s get botox when it’s really not needed. Insecurities are off the charts.

There is no such thing as preventative botox, though. Your other facial muscles will overcompensate for the facial muscles that are paralyzed and you will get lines in those places.

In order for this preventative botox idea to work, you would have to inject botox throughout your entire face (effectively paralyzing your entire face) and never open your mouth or smile again for decades. Even then, the overuse of botox in this manner will cause your skin to become looser, thinner, and 'crepey', which will end up making you look older. I am a bit surprised at this med spa trend as I think they are recklessly giving young women and men treatments they do not need.

About 10 years ago, botox typically was reserved for 40 or 50 year olds and done by an actual plastic surgeon or their nurse. And at that time, no doctor or nurse would even dream of injecting a 20 or 30 year old (and sometimes not a 40 year old) because of the concerns of overuse of botox and the side effects I mentioned above. You would literally have to wait until you actually had signs of slight aging to get this. Now, it's a trend that people are making a lot of money off of through the med spa business.

I really think you should consider talking to your general/primary care doctor (not a plastic surgeon or med spa worker) about this before you consider continuing this because there are lots of side effects to botox this early.

Yeah, and in 4 to 6 months time results fade and you need to pay at least 400 pounds for a top up. It is a great business for the industry 🤷🏻‍♀️ I genuinely believe natural frowning suits you better. Little lines add character to your expression
