I used to think it was silly to believe the earth is only 5000 years old or whatnot. But God created Adam as an adult, not a baby, so yes, he literally could have created the entire universe to LOOK a certain age.

I like listening to “Answers In Genesis” with Ken Ham, I believe the account of Genesis and, if we’ve been here millions to billions of years, shouldn’t the writings be available for us, rather than just the dates we have…???
But of course, once we become like the snake asking…”Did GOD really say that???” Ok once we undermine Genesis, the whole BIBLE is up for interpretation and the TRUTH becomes our understanding 😢😢😢

It's definitely 6 days of creation. Those six days prophetically represent 6000 year plan plus the 7th day represents the 1000 year millennial reign. We are nearly there.

If you read the Bible in context, everything that happened in Genesis 1:1-5 happened on the first day. Just because it went from a wide focus on the Universe to a focus on the earth, does not mean that somehow some time has passed.

And it is not like the focus really shifted. The whole creation, including Genisis 1:1 is still focused on the earth.

I would say that in 2 Peter 3:8, he is specifically telling us, “beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is as a thousand years to the Lord, as a 1000 years is to one day.” 7 days=7, 000 years for creation.

I would say to people, that's not even important how old the earth is. For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whomsoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life 🙌

There is really only one proper interpretation. The one that the author intended and a good exegete seeks to understand what the author intended to convey. I highly recommend the book “Understanding Genesis, ” by Dr. Jason Lisle!

I Love Frank Turek and the work he does. He is actually one of my favorite apologists, i just disagree with him on this one. I believe GOD made HIS WORD so that everyone can understand IT without the help of "PROFESSIONALS", because what happens when professionals get involved? Pride happens, and pride will interpret things the way it wants to. Im not saying thats what Frank does, i just want to be clear on that.

In verse 1, there is still no days so no count.
In verse 2 it was where counting starts.
So between Gen 1:1 and 1:2 is a no-count time.

The first verse says “God created the heavens AND the earth”. The second verse describes how the earth was made; formless and void.
