Does a SegWit transaction require both the source and destination addresses to be SegWit addresses or can a SegWit transaction contain a legacy source address and a SegWit destination address?

Thanks for the video! I have a Ledger Nano S. I am simply someone who buys and holds bitcoin. I don't mine or receive payments in bitcoin. Should I still be switching over to Segwit? Or can I just hold my current bitcoins on the legacy side and when I buy new ones of Coinbase, transfer them from Coinbase to my Segwit accounts on my Ledger Nano S? So basically stay the same for existing, but with new ones coming in hold on segwit. Therefore holding on each in the long run?

New at Bitcoin. I have bought through swan and trying to put on ledger nano. When I go to receive it doesn't have an address that starts with a 1 or 3, so I can't use it to grab my bitcoin. I get a longer number that starts with a b on the nano and it won't work to get my bitcoin off the site. The site said I need something that is segwit or segwit legacy . Confused.

[02:18] Bitcoin Cash didn't actually "take-out" SegWit when it split from the original Bitcoin chain on Aug 1 because SegWit hadn't yet activated on the original chain. I think it's more accurate to state that Bitcoin Cash didn't include SegWit support in its client software.

Hey Ben, for someone who is just storing bitcoins on Ledger Nano S and not doing transactions what do you recommend? Leaving them on the Main Bitcoin chain or moving them over the the SEGWIT chain???
