SILENT 62 Trideck Powercat | Walkthrough | Multihulls World

► Developed using the Silent 60 as a base, the 62 has gained 34½” of extra hull length, but is above all, the brand’s first model with three deck levels.: cabins in the hulls, central nacelle, and flybridge. Until now, the yard was offering an optional helm station featuring a retractable T-Top for protection, but aboard the 62, there’s an immense 538-square foot (50 m²) flybridge that remains fixed. This generous surface area provides space for a bar, galley, dining table and large bench-seating for 10 to 12 people. The flybridge is of course covered by a vast T-Top, which not only provides protection but, above all, is suitable for installing an optimal surface area of solar panels. But the manufacturer goes a step further than the classic open fly version - which is the one we got to test at Cannes - as this third level can also be converted into a closed saloon or owner’s suite.
The drivetrain chosen for this model is identical to that of the Silent 60: despite its displacement now approaching 40 tons, the 62 is capable of covering 100 nautical miles in 100% electric mode - at reduced cruising speed, of course. A kite can also be deployed for longer passages on favorable points of sail.

Interesting design "update" over the 60. You can see the influence of the original 64 and 60, but a very nice change in the design language! Love that you kept the "flip-top" upper helm station, but one question on the variants. Is there a solar capacity variance between the Fly/Open/Closed? Looking at the cabin roof of the 3, seeing slight footprint differences, so wondering if there is any impact on power production/capture.

Glad to see you back at the shows and you gave us informed tour though a the location and a demonstration of the motor tech would have been worth including.

The fixed open upper deck option doesnt seem to offer any paticular advantage over the high low configuration .In fact in current disturbed weather conditions it might be more problematic
facing high winds and difficult seas. How well are the electrical systems protected against lightning 🌩️⚡ strikes also at record levels.
