To read Alchemist one needs to be a little older than you all. Perhaps if you are in your 30s, you will enjoy the book better. This book is specially for those who has lost all hopes and wants to regain faith. It has been a life transforming for me. I would not call it overrated, rather one needs to read it after achieving at least a little bit of experience in life. You people are so young! Read as many books as you can, but leave this book for reading much later. It is a gem.

Don't know why this classic has so many haters but the point of time i read this book my life was a complete mess and after this book. Its wisdom and life lessons had made my life far far better

Since High School(I graduated in 2011) I’ve always been told to read this book. For years and years I always meant to pick it up from the library or buy it online but I never got around to do it yet I would always see it everywhere or it would come up everywhere almost like it was following me. Over the course of that time since I graduated I repeatedly told myself that I NEEDED to read is as badly as people always told me to. Yet again for some odd reason I never did. In 2018 a series of events in my life that lasted 6 years started. These were events that changed my entire life and the way I thought about life and myself. I’m now comfortable enough to say that I was suffering through depression. In 2023 I underwent a mental transormation with the help of people around me that helped me get out of that depressed state and I began to return to my normal self. In December while driving home I drove past our local library and I swear on everything it was as if something told me I NEEDED to pick up the Alchemist so I signed up for a library card and did indeed check out the Alchemist. I just finished the book yesterday and all I can say is WOW. I am not kidding when I say it is one of the greatest reads I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing in my entire life. At times I was brought to tears because in a way it resonated with my entire life. There were a few parts of the book that I felt as if it were speaking directly to my soul. Words cannot express the feeling I had when I was close to the end. In a way I was so dissappointed that it has taken me so long to read yet I was so relieved I finally got around to it. I’m not 100% sure that had I read it many years ago when I was told to read it that I would fully understand its message. Now that i’m older and with the experiences I’ve had in my life I can truly say that it’s almost as if I was meant to read it at the time & age I did. I HIGHLY recommend reading it and not resding it fast but actually taking your time to read the story and digest every word, sentence and paragraph because there is a lot to gain from from reading this book.

The desert settings of this book is not something that i liked yet i completed this book very fast, i like travel and adventure books and memoirs a lot whether they are fiction books or memoirs this might be the reason why i found this book so interesting.

I think you should stick to reading your celevrity magazines. Its written very simple, but the fact that you found it boring indicates you may ADHD and a love of materiality rather than philosophy.
