Combo Touch was almost perfect for me. I wish it had the magnetic closure to secure the apple pencil.

for me the more secured way to attach the pencil is a no brainer, and its cheaper, its ok for a slightly less performant and smaller trackpad. And not attachable means at least you won't lose the keyboard. Conclusion Folio touch. thanks man. Great video

I have the folio touch and love it, it does add weight but the rubber edge and magnetic clip ensure the iPad and pencil are safe when transporting. The case does get grubby but is showing no sign out wear when working in engineering. For the price you can’t complain.

I’ve tried SOOO many cases (kickstand type, hard shell laptop types, kickstand types, and others). Fact is there IS a real difference with a Smart Connector keyboard vs. Bluetooth (which means it’s down to Apple and Logitech if you’re a power user). Bluetooth Trackpad/keyboard cases can get buggy, lose connection randomly, and lack some responsiveness. Or the material shows wear badly. Having the Smart Connector and dedicated shortcut keys, plus Logitech’s masterful case material, the Combo Touch is really hard to beat it. The main issue with Logitech that I ran into started with the Folio Touch which had defective keys (#4 and #5) that popped off without warning. And I couldn’t get them to reattach. Logitech replaced it with another and the same thing happened again. Design flaw. Logitech thankfully replaced it with the Combo Touch which worked great for just over 2 years until the wiring in the flexible connector flap went bad a few weeks ago (just stopped responding). I don’t abuse my gear, but I do use my iPad and trackpad/keyboard case every day. Right now I’m using my first Folio Touch without a couple keys missing (which Logitech said I could keep) until I find another case I like. I’m trying one more before resigning myself to buy another Combo Touch. The good news is they now offer it in three colors instead of just one (at least for my iPad Pro 11, 3rd gen.).

I didn't know that the keyboard on the Combo Touch was able to disconnect from the back panel. Damn. Actually when I bought my iPad Air a couple years ago I went with a Speck Folio case and then I bought the Logitech MX Keys Mini as a keyboard solution. It works for me. I just never cared for having a keyboard case full time.

If I do upgrade to another iPad down the road I might look at the Combo Touch again. Thank you for your thorough review. Subscribed!

I'm getting a Logitech combo touch. I want to be able to detach the keyboard, so that I can use the ipad in more ways and I have a mechanical bluetooth keyboard and a bluetooth mouse that I would prefer to use whenever I have the room to do so instead of the ones built into the case. The Folio Touch would get in the way of that because I wouldn't be able to remove it. I also prefer the inverted T shape for the arrow keys and to fully depress the mouse pad to click, but those are secondary reasons.

I didn’t even realize there were two options for the Logitech keyboards until this video popped up. I recently bought mine and was confused on why I didn’t have a little flap to protect my apple pencil like advertised for the folio touch. Oh well though, turns out I LOVE the combo touch so much more— especially because of the detachable keyboard. It’s way more appealing to my needs as carrying my iPad on its own without the keyboard is much more comfortable than being forced to carry it with the keyboard attached the back. Decent tradeoff for removing the flap! Happy accidents happen, I am satisfied with my purchase

Nobody talks about the biggest downside to these keyboards, which is that when you fully extend the keyboard on a table it becomes really long.

If you have any intention of using less than a full sized desk on this you wont be able to fully extend the kickstand, and have the keyboard out.

Nice review. But…. In time the Logitech will get broken…. The problem is the flat-cable on the inside near the hinge in the keyboard part. Opening/closing the case will result (<2yrs) in a defect (the flat cable will break). Result: no connection possible so no more use of the keyboard. Be aware of this!

Folio touch This is one of the most uncomfortable keyboards and cases. Heavy, sharp edges when it lies on your feet, when you hold it vertically or horizontally the grip is uncomfortable because you have to hold the keyboard buttons, bulky because the case is thick when you fold it and that's also why it's hard to hold. Why don't you guys even talk about such things just testing it in one mode, typing and when it is lying on the desk?

I've had 2 folio touches fail in the span of a year from my daughter's use, due to stress to the thin & flat embedded wire that connects the keyboard to the case.

The problem is the kickstand. If you use the iPad on your lap when typing, it becomes unusable...

I lowkey wished that my keyboard would use power from my ipad so that i didn’t have to charge it, but the battery lasts *very long* (depending on the usage) and it doesn’t take too long to charge so im fine

1. Is the combo touch made by Logitech ?

2. I want the cloth one, not the one that looks like it’s cloth but it’s more like rubber (do you know where I can find this?) I want the combo touch

I chose the Combo Touch back in September 2022 when I bought the Air 5. I use a similar pencil sleeve.
