"There has been a murda in Savannah, I do declare!"

People saying he completely missed on his accent. I disagree. I think he was going for a Non-rhotic southern accent found in the Deep South like the Carolinas. It is an older accent which is not really prevalent today which is probably why so many people say he missed completely. Hollywood loves this “gentleman’s” accent which is why people only associate it with caricatures of southern aristocrats. Frank Underwood is really the last non-rhotic southern accent that I found believable. Daniel Craig nailed it in my opinion.

The posh southern accent based around Charleston and Savannah sounds a whole lot like the High society English accent. (Not normal every day people… the uppity old south people that live on plantations and in manors in town.) There is a debate on this, but that’s who he sounds like to me. I was born in Savannah.

Coming from someone from the south, Daniel Craig's southern accent is one of the worst I've heard. Respect to him of course for being a great actor but that southern accent is just so over the top and stereotypical

I live in Louisiana and I’ve met people with Similar accents

It was really over exaggerated. I could hear him slipping in and out of the accent quite often too.

As a southerner this accent is cringe

It's so extra, as southern accent glides off the mouth like silk . craig sounds like he's in a constant state of constipation.

I mean no one has spoken this way in about 150 years lol. But I guess he did alot better than most

When I first watched the movie I thought he was supposed to be foreign... I still loved the movie though!

Daniel Craig does the worst American accent I've ever heard in my life. He can and only should play British characters. In the movie his accent switches from southern to Franklin Roosevelt, to British every 2 sentences

I certainly wouldn't say "pulled off" more like swung for the fences and struck out...

I'm from Asia but that's the only accent that impressed me after watching 200+ Hollywood Movies
