This was beautiful. After tormenting myself over past hurts, disappountments, people walking away, selfishness etc, this song right here. (Tears). Has helped me to see my many different situations in a whole other light. True forgiveness is so necessary. It's the missing piece to my peace, joy and sanity. There is someone (God) so selfless whose here to help the broken hearted when we are ready to restart.. I love that part. Thank you Holy Spirit for guiding me here. Just this morning I concluded that maybe my life was destined to be this way but NOT SO. Cause it's too hard not too! Several years ago, I entered the Sunday Best competition in Atlanta. After grueling audition after grueling audition, I finally made it to the Big Three - Tina Campbell, Erica Campbell, and BeBe Winans. Heart in my throat and stomach in knots, I sang my song. Tina, you told me I was "just like any other singer, in any other church, in any other city, in other state around America... You can sing, but there's nothing special about you." Those words broke me down to the core. Words DO hurt, contrary to the fairy tale. For years, I found myself unsure of my talent. But it never was the talent I should have been concerned with - but the gift God gave me. I finally, after years, found the courage to move beyond the title of "nothing special" and let my voice be heard. But for years, I harbored a disdain against you - which I knew wasn't at all what God would want from me. Here it is nearly 15 years later. I heard this song, and fell in love with its message. The same person who had crushed my heart and my spirit with her words, lifted them with the her words as well. I thank you for helping me to release that anger, that hurt, that disdain for you, and replace it with a thankful spirit, renewed respect, and love. through what can only be described as a series of God-ordained events, i was listening to get up mornings just before this song was introduced today, since i rarely tune in that early. i could not believe what i was hearing as i listened to the song! it was as though the Lord God was speaking directly to me, addressing a situation in my life. i had already forgiven the person who caused the situation, but the lyrics addressed other aspects, reassuring me that the Lord God sees, & knows, & is using it to promote me. thank You, Lord God! thank you, tina!
