I used these command strips on wood and holding. But I never gave it a thought to use on stainless steel. After viewing your video, I used my remaining command strips to keep my knife bar from sliding down the side of my refrigerator. Today, it is holding and no more sliding. Thank you for sharing.

this video was really helpful, i am in the same situation renting an apartment with limited counter space, and can not drill holes because the walls are filled all the way up with tiles.

A few tips: 1) even though this is temporary, it wouldn’t hurt to use a level. 2) stainless steel isn’t idea because it can trap moisture and rust your knives. They make wood and even leather-faced ones.

Hey I was just wondering how it's holding up and if you ended up having any issues with stability or it falling being only secured via Velcro?

Just did mine, then had to re-do it.
I learnt to stick the strips as close to the horizontal edges to avoid the block rocking and the velcro failing
I put 1strip in each corner
Also, clean surface with alcohol cleaner not kitchen cleaner spray/dish soap

I also live in an apartment and can't drill holes. What is the surface in the video -- some type of tile or marble? I need to mount on drywall above stove and am a little nervous it won't hold as well as on tile / marble / granite.

How do the strips actually make contact with the wall when the inside piece go all the way into the outside piece (front piece)?

This video is a lie. Once you remove the spacers the back plate goes in and can no longer make contact with the wall
