For after-school homework, this guideline could be helpful. For in-class learning, as a student I'd hate it: Throughout out my school years, I did pretty well in language classes. This also meant that I was never able to focus on composing my own piece during any two-hour writing classes. Every other fellow student would be bugging me with all sorts of writing questions: How to express a certain idea, what is the right word or phrase for this and that. The list goes so on and on and on. And now "ASK 3" !? What is the teacher paid for in this case?

I'm not an educator, but as a kid I always hated this rule. I was a kind of shy kid, I never had close friends in my grade (probably because I was younger than everyone else), so being told that I had to ask other people for the answer just made me anxious and frustrated. Usually I'd end up not having my question answered or lying that I had already asked 3 people.
