Yes it has potential... I love the grit but the rotor needs work!!! Great video.

I do appreciate that I now know 1000% more about organ emulations and drawbars and all after watching these videos.

Wow, I've never really seen such an in-depth video on the Leslie like this before! One of my favourite effects ever, even works wonderfully on guitars. Splendid job!

Another really informative and interesting video. i now know a lot more about Leslie Speakers. I've tried the simple rotary setting on my YC61 and have incorporated it into some of my presets. As a newcomer to Hammond Organ, I'm pleased to be able to shape the sounds I'm achieving more than on my Yamaha CSP170, even if it falls short of the real thing.

The drive in YC really adds some grit to the sound. Great for classic rock but I prefer the smooth, rounded floating kind of hammond / leslie sound.

Thanks Woody, this is really good stuff. I rally like the YC series, would probably prefer the YC88 for piano purposes, but love the organ direct control. You also made me play with my Genos, which initially I thought didn't have that many options to control the rotary parameters. But now I found out that you actually have lots! of options to control the parameters and now it really sounds like a Hammond organ (as close as it can get of course).

I have blue3 and I am an Hammond organist and I think the blue3 "ORGAN" is the best vst out for the "ORGAN" but the Leslie in that comes with it is not completely realistic, but paired with another Leslie simulation that is realistic, it gives you the same feel of the real think

Whoo I was literally binge watching b3 videos on YouTube last night. Then I wake up to this, woody is too good

I bought L'otary from PSP and it changed what I thought a Leslie SIM could be. It also demonstrated just how much the Leslie has to do with the b3 vibe. I can play any sine waves though it and it sounds very much like a b3. Mostly I use NI's vintage organs collection using l'otary as the Leslie and there's nothing short of the real thing that can compete

Nice video, as always. I had the automatic subtitles on, and when you tried the alternative built-in simulator at around 45 min., the subtitles wrote No no no no no no 😂

Nice one Woody!
I never tested Blue3 but I think I will do it tonight on my notebook.
I am a strong fan of IK Multimedia B3X but one more Hammond clone is never bad. VB3II from GSI is also extremely good.
IK Multimedia has the rights on Hammond and Leslie trade marks and I think their Leslie is the best in the digital world.
I am going to test physically an YC61 as soon as I can get to a store.
Andrea plays so well.
Thanks for everything!

Looking at when you put this together, Woody, I wonder if the YC you play here had been updated to firmware v1.3. This update has made big improvements to the rotary speaker section. The ‘Studio’ set up (now the default for Rotary ‘a’) sounds a ton better to me (I have very recently bought the YC88 and updated to v1.3). Perhaps you could do a follow up vid around this?

Hi I am using standalone VB3 issue 2 from GI. I've got two 61 note controllers with 9 sliders each mounted in a gutted home organ chassis The rotary is absolutely PHENOMENAL as is the organ sound itself. (And I used to gig an L100 back in the day)

Woody, if you can get your hands on the new Hammond SK Pro, would love a review, thanks!

Nice to see just how much air the Drum on Andreas Leslie pushes out at it moves the label on the cymbal stand.

I’m leaning more towards NordE6-73key:semi weight. There are more sounds available and a better resale value towards future upgrading. Most importantly the Key-bed feel. Knowing I have to consider compromising for the mod and pitch wheel and not so hot synth zone. I’ll just use a cheap mini keyboard to hack for the mod-pitch wheeIs. As for the synth section that will be reinforced with the Waldorf iridium desktop midi to the Nord. If we’re to throw in the Wild card Hammond Sk pro? Your thoughts are greatly welcomed and deeply appreciated. Thanks for your support.

Woody, that RA200 cabinet is Yamaha’s mid-1970’s take on the Leslie speaker. The three treble speakers on top rotated in a non-synchronized way, adding to the depth of the sound.

I like the additional sounds on the yc61 better than the organ but may get it and use it to control Hammond B3X from IK Multimedia for the organ sounds

Some Good points however at the section you are supposedly demoing the Leslie on its own, you have the Chorus / Vibrato effect on at the same time (timestamp 7:35 all the way up to 15:40) which can be confusing for some Newbies that are not familiar with the Leslie / B3 sound and the way they work.
