Hi Uncle Dave, I've been a Sphere member for about 6 months, previously just had Artist, and I am so happy that I've signed up. The collaboration workspace is FANTASTIC, especially during this lock down period of our lives. I've formed a band of musos from all over Australia and it has been an amazing way of making music and friends. My only negative comment is that there is almost too much choice...it's bewildering. I could spend the rest of my life exploring and using this stuff. I'm stoked 😃

Hi Dave, I purchase STUDIO ONE PRO January 2011. Verison 1.1. My first DAW and My only DAW upgraded all the versions now using 5.5 on the computer. I recorded in Analog before this purchase. Thanks for sharing this information. I will have to check it out. Thanks again.

Excellent presentation. A couple of basic questions: [1] We can work offline, right? [2] 3rd party plug-ins on our PC, these are available as before, right?

I've been a Sphere user for a year now and I love it! There is so much value in this poduct for about £4 a week that it's a no-brainer! I love Studio One on it's own but the mastering section, notation, collaboration, cloud services, all the plugins that Presonus create, free updates and even more. Compare that with Pro Tools (which I abandoned after 20 years because I felt I was getting ripped off) and it blows it away. In my opinion it's in a league of it's own because of the quality and how much it costs. Superb!

Good video! Thanks. If I subscribe to sphere, do I have to be constantly connected to the network? I don't like to depend on the net connection to use a DAW.
But it never becomes yours, it seems that you are not buying, you rent, is that right?
If you cancel the subscription, for example, after a year, do you have anything left?

Just sign up, you get A LOT for the money, it's really crazy good, all the modules for the Fat Channel and the bunch of new Mix FX modules are worth it alone imho, amazing sounding stuff!!

I bought a Presonus 24c interface which came with the Artist version but wanted more. So I didn't realize when I signed up for Sphere I would get the Professional Version. I got a 20% discount on the first year membership. I love it and have yet to use all the features.

Hi. The prices next to the plugins. Are they for stand-alone one-off purchases designed to work with one of the non-Sphere versions of the DAW? Perhaps to go with Studio One Professional? Could that be way to go for those who still don’t want subscriptions. Thanks for the great overview btw.

I’ve not long got a SQ and started using Studio Artist, and love it. This subscription seems a no brainier to me, as someone relatively new to this, it gives me everything I’d need in one place. It’ll all work together without going hunting for free or cheap plug-in’s (that more often than not free). Also, most tutorials I’ve seen seem to be based on the full program, so having it to work along makes sense. Another thing is, I was looking for good guitar virtual instruments and the cost of them is at least the same as a year’s subscription to Sphere, that comes with a few guitars!

I am renting the Presonus Sphere 6. Will be really awesome! Its got all the plugins that I will need to build trailers and work on my own music. Will take some time to learn which I don't mind at all.

I love studio one, I started with Artist 4 when I bought an interface and upgraded to 4 & 5 pro mainly for the extra stuff that works with the SQ. I am in no way an expert with a super lot to learn.

Sphere does not work for me and I wont be joining. I like to keep my plugins to a minimum but since sphere I have decided to buy new VST's etc from third parties just incase presonus make S1 subscription S1 5 has enough to keep me busy for years anyway so I aint going anywhere soon.

I am certainly feeling the love with 5.5... Nice work Presonus

I'm just a voice actor who enjoys editing his own tracks. I wouldn't need Presonus Sphere for that reason. I thoroughly enjoyed this video as with all Dave's videos, however, as it allows me to stay on top of the audio engineering world. Well done again!

Dave, I've found a number of your educational resources to be very valuable since I entered the Studio One realm back with version 2. A question for you with regard to this latest iteration - in all this time I've acquired many plugins and virtual instruments ranging from GForce's M-Tron Pro mellotron emulation to the Waves Abbey Road and Eddie Kramer plugins - and many more. How seamlessly will these play with this new configuration of Studio One? I'm currently on 4 Professional and (like earlier versions) these plugins are easily installed and immediately accessible within the DAW - is it still just as simple? Do you download 5 into a folder structure similar to 4 and earlier? Thanks in advance for any input!
