No, it is basically mandatory for baseline longterm protection if you don't want to basically guarantee damage over time to your cards. The material in the back of the pockets will over enough time leave small imprints, the cards can move around slighty without sleeves so they will inevitably get microscratches or go out of the pockets, risking bending when carelessly flipping the pages. Also the risk of damaging the edges when inserting the sleeveless cards is also a high risk when we're talking about hundreds of cards being put into it.

People, if you care about your cards SLEEVE THEM before putting them in a binder.

Really bummed Gamegenic had to delay the acrylic products until November. They make the game so much nicer verse the cheap cutouts. Wouldn’t be surprised if people made some STL files for the hero’s and companions to have minis on this one. Got the big holder yesterday and the color is so great in person. Love the two player mat as well. Ended up getting 24 unique in my 5 boxes so I’m excited to see how they play out.
