Top 5 Beginner Sewing Patterns

In this week's vlog I'm sharing my top five beginner sewing patterns - easy to sew and easy to wear whilst also teaching you those crucial beginner sewing skills to get you started on your dressmaking journey. I've chosen simple tops and skirts in different styles that can be sewn in a variety of beginner friendly and more advanced dressmaking fabrics to create a range of different looks. The sewing techniques covered include darts, waistbands, zips, hems, straps and more. I've sewn all of the patterns myself and love wearing these garments time and time again so they really are a personal recommendation. Thank you so much Lucy, I really really enjoyed watching you telling us about the different makes, and assuring newbies, how easy they are to make. I really really can’t believe how much patterns cost now. I haven’t brought a pattern for some time, but, the cost is very prohibited. I go to a charity shop, that stocks used patterns, that are fine. Depending upon what you want, there’s not the wide range of patterns, but for newbies it could be a starting point.
