Before watching - NO, can't be too scrappy. 
After still no. Especially not those scraps - they coordinate...  
BUT I think that any and all of a theme - Beach prints - could go together. My last log cabin stuck with light & dark, but I barely repeated a print in the queen sized quilt. The one that is being shipped from my long armer is similarly scrappy - but all lights.

I don't think that there is such a thing as too scrappy as long as there is color harony in the project. That is just how I make my scrappy quilts.

You had a quilt pattern you used a couple years ago for a quilt using the scrap tape. You probably don't remember what the name of the quilt was?
