8 Painful Lessons You’ll Learn in Disney World

Alright, time to dish on the not-so-fun side of Disney -- the things you don’t want to experience but you just might. A lot of these come from personal experience and while we can’t do too much about getting older and just NOT being able to handle some rides like we used to...I can at least prepare you for the day when you see the teacups and think, “I’ll skip that this time”.

The biggest thing to remember is to stay hydrated. Some of my classmates didn’t and they were dropping like flies. I was paired with 2 of them so the whole day I was constantly reminding them to hydrate and eat something. They requested that I find other people to be paired with.

Lol. I went alone, all 9 days. It was glorious. Do what I want when I want.

Ironically my vacation was more impacted by adult drama than kids. Chill, Aunt Susan!

My wife and I watched this video last night and in all honesty it is my favorite @DFBdisney video so far. AJ is just so genuine and relatable in this video, and I love it when content creators trust their audience with a portion of their personal life and experiences. I feel like it really cultivates the connection between creator and audience.

Awesome job!!

_"You can find something new to be mad about when they replace it in 20 years!"_

As a 36yo whose first trip was at 4, I don't think I've ever heard you say something more relatable, AJ! I legit lol'd. 😂

Painful lesson: listen to your body! I almost missed the rest of my trip (like two parks worth) because I had to go to the dentist I let the pain get so bad! Found out I needed a root canal 🤒

Finding out that your allergic to cinnamon after eating a cinnamon bun. Happened to me when I was 10 and it ruined my birthday trip until Mickey presented my family with 2-day park hopper tickets. I'm 31 now and that's still my Painful Lesson/Happy Memory from Disney.

Am I the only one that will listen to these on autoplay at work, even if I'm not scheduled for a vacay? this is great.

The secret to having the best Disney vacation ever...wait until your kids are grown to go with them again. I have so much fun with my adult daughters at Disney! We do “girl’s days” and leave the men folk at home and have a blast, just the three of us. We stay 3 or 4 days and nobody ever gets their panties in a wad. It’s totally different when the men and kids go. Everyone has a tendency to get cranky and the men don’t like Disney anyway. The kids are all teenagers and they’d rather stay home and hang out with friends. But us girls...we love it and love the fun of just going with the flow. 👍🏼👍🏼🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

We've been taking our kids to Disneyland a couple times a week since they were weeks old, they're super easy to travel with and I'm grateful. They're teens now and I'm going to miss it so much. 😭

i know it doesn’t have much to do with disney itself, but i would love to see a video about how you and your team operate. how often you go to parks, who works on what, meeting the team, etc. i always wonder about who’s behind all of the amazing videos and how you guys make it possible!!

3:30 (solution for thin walls), continually play the "I'll have what she's having" scene from "When Harry Met Sally" and get upgraded to the honeymoon suite.

😂we had seven adults and by day two we said “ok people, bathroom breaks are now like we are on a road trip, everyone goes at once.”

Spot test on your kids too! HUGE teachable moment was first trip with kids when I bought lots of travel-sized bottles which were NOT the usual products for my kids. First day in MK, my daughter broke out in a severe rash from the sunscreen. We washed her using cold water from near Pirates and spent pretty much the rest of the trip trying to avoid the sun as we dared no apply anything else to her. Lesson learned the hard way.

Me, my mam and my little sister are hopefully (fingers crossed 🤞) going to disney in August of 2021 and we love watching these videos. Even though we go often, we love learning about new things. These videos are awesome 😁

Wearing brand new shoes to a 9am-9pm Magic Kingdom run with my family when I was a child was my biggest faux pas hahahaha

biggest thing I learned the hard way is invest in gel insoles for your shoes. My first trip to Disney at one point I felt my feet would hurt LESS if I took my shoes off and walked around the parks in just my socks.

Everything you've said about your eyes being bigger than your stomach is 1000% accurate. Lived and learned the hard lesson....
