In this lecture we recall how counter-intuitive certain probabilities can be, and realize that being able to count the number of ways something can happen is very important to determining the correct probability of something. We therefore look at several counting techniques. We mention other probability rules (like the rule of compliments) and techniques (like tree diagrams and tables) that help us think about and compute probabilities easier. We do several examples, and then wrap up the intro chapter to probability. We shall delve deeper into probability in the next lecture.
