the CPU "cost" doesn't really increase with increasing block size, the reaction time does. you increase frequency accuracy and decrease time accuracy.

Copying peak levels is not the way to go. Use a vu meter to get a better understanding of the space you have for your sub elements

So true with the -1.5 level for sub bass at that range.had To be like -7.
It destroys my mix at the low end in the mastering.thx 4 the advice.i Start To correct a lot now.

Why does sub bass usually end up being louder than everything else to sound right rather than just being flat?

This is assuming you are mixing everything else correctly as well. If you sit your sub at -6 and it eats the entire track you need to adjust some other things to work with the -6 sub

Hey multipler,
when doing spectral analysis on different tracks with a spectrum in ableton does it matter if you use .wav? Bottom line, does the file format matter? Most of my references are .mp3... j/w. I guess it is related because the same applies for mastering using the reference feature in Ozone 8 or other reference related plugins. It says it accepts .wav, .mp3, .almosteverything but does the format matter.
