Filmed live in King's College Chapel, for broadcast at Easter 2021, this is Thomas Tallis' motet 'If ye love me'. A masterpiece of the simple, protestant English style demanded by the new Church of England in the mid-1500s, this piece has become a favourite amongst choirs around the world. Whilst we have released other versions of this, including a 'Sing along with The King's Singers' video version, we wanted to share this live performance in the magical surroundings and acoustics of our spiritual home of King's College, Cambridge, in the hope it brings peace and comfort this Easter.

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another comforter,
that he may 'bide with you forever;
E'en the sp'rit of truth.
John 14:15–17

EVERYtime I hear this beautiful piece, I have chills and tingling on the back of my neck and all the way up the back of my head. It’s as close as my human mind can imagine how the angels sing in heaven. ✨

Hi, from Finland! My husband is listening to politics talking about NATO, but I prefer listening to this. 💎Thankyou for sharing! I once visited Cambridge.

As an ex-chorister from Kings from the 70s, this has always been one of my favourites. And now very proud to have had our little Cambridgeshire village choir of Whaddon perform this piece for Easter. Nowhere near as good as this rendition, but what moved me most was that the whole choir agreed this was the most beautiful and spiritual music they had ever sung.

The King's Singers were the last concert I went to before COVID hit. Their music has gotten me through the past two years. Thank you for this beauty, now and always!

I fell in love with the King's Singers version of this song as they recorded it from their separate homes during the pandemic. This version, so enhanced by the acoustics of the venue, is mesmerizing. Thank you!

Simply heavenly! That's a tendre caress in such troubled times. Thank you so much. As a veteran supporter of King's Singers, it's a pleasure to see you all, especially Christopher and Johnny, who I had the chance to personally meet more than once in Rome some years ago.Happy and Holy Easter!

Beautiful! I've been a fan of multiple incarnations of "The King's Singers" since the seventies... this version is right up there with the best, and gives solace in difficult times. Thanks again!
