I thought that I was the only one obsessed with these kinds of videos. I would love to be a full time prepper

In regards to your Hygeine kits. You may want to switch up to preserve weight. I recommend skipping the laundry soap/dish detergent and adding another bottle of Castille soap which can be used to wash dishes, laundry, hair and body wash.

Petroleum jelly in a ziplock. Wonderful skin protectant, lubricator for chaffing (which you will get if you have to move long distances) and becoming immobile due to a blister could kill you, and amazing fire starter (I personally use Vicks vapor run because it also can be used to open airways, has all the above uses and also when in use is a wonderful bug repellant).

Switch out your toothpaste and (if you had it) deoderant, for a bit of baking soda in everyones bags. This stuff is the holy Grail of cleaning and Hygeine DIY. Excellent for chaffing, body odour, toothpaste, mix it with a bit of Castille soap to scrub and sanitize cookware. The possibilities are endless.

Use the 3 washrag method for you, your husbad and teach your eldest children how to use this method for your bathroom needs, toilet paper will run out and this method is more sustainable long term (there are backpacking videos on YouTube that can teach you how to do this)

Baby wipes serve the same purpose and better ingredients than anything labeled for backpacking and body wipes. Save yourself some money and don't fall for the marketing.

Consider adding gorrila duct tape and superglue to your med kit. Not only can be used for fixing numerous gear and kit but the duct tape can be used to seal a wound in a pinch (so can the superglue but make sure it is disinfected 1st or you'll seal infection in the wound) the duct tape is also flammable.

The vitamin C is awesome but make sure if you are using iodine to treat your water that you give the iodine sufficient amount of time to treat your water before you add vitamin C as the vitamin C stops the chemical reaction causing it to neutralize the iodine making it innefective and you could get sick from your water.

Sorry for the long post. Just things I have learned over time.

This needs to be in You Tube’s Top 5 Bug Out Bag prep videos! None other I have seen covers the important documents, hard drives and binder like you do at the end (DON’T MISS that section...it’s GREAT!). No one else goes over a how to plan for breaking it up into different family members’ bags. 👍 And I love how you talk about the different types and tools to prepare for different situations other than your bags. (Bugging in, Bugging out, your home, your truck, your bags). I will be watching this several more times, taking notes and refining my systems and plans. Thank you, thank you for helping me and my family (and countless others) by sharing and inspiring! You are a jewel! 💎💖🌇🌆🌃🏙

When you get the sleeping bags and shelters, do a practice hike and overnight camp. Hike 10 miles, set up camp, stay the night and hike back the next day. Should give you a good feel for your gear. Honelstly I'd leave the kids at home for the first run. Take care!

We also keep emergency bags and have needed it. Woken middle of night because of a plant explosion nearby and police where evacuating everyone. Everything was rushed so kids picked up out of bed and put straight into van and bags grabbed. Police needed to make sure everyone was out so there were only minutes. Didn’t realize no shoes for kids until we stopped. Took about 4 days to return but I now keep extra shoes in the back of our van. I like redundancy also, several kits in several places. Look forward to the truck video.

This inspires me so much. FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, I pray you and your beautiful family NEVER find yourselves in a position to need this system but it is so incredible that you've thought so much of this through!!! Definitely eye opening that anything can happen. Thank you for taking the time to share this video!!!

I’ve been preping since 2011, an for the first time ever. I heard u guys actually set a solid family bug out plan, especially how if y’all break into 2 groups y’all will distinguish between who has the strengths an weaknesses

I live in Canada and just put two bug out bags together. Very similar items, but the hard drive i never thought of that. Thanks for doing this. It takes a lot of time!!!

I'm sure you said it and I probably missed it, but I would suggest ear plugs for the one who is NOT on watch so the other one can get GOOD sleep if it's noisy like in a shelter situation. Carmex is also not only good for chapped lips, but hands or cheeks for wind burn or extreme cold. Definitely in mine I'm gonna have to put Vicks VapoRub...my hubby is addicted!! lol Maybe some bandanas just because they are so versatile. God bless

I was talking to a lady who survived the California camp fire from a couple years ago and she talked about how she wished she had a binder of important documents like what you showed. It's no joke to be unprepared. I hope you included some antibiotics+probiotics in your med bag. Don't forget to have nail plug kits and tire pumps in your cars in case you get any flat tires.

I love how organized you are with your equipment! You have labeled pouches, dividers in your binder, labelled pill boxes, etc. Even how you present the content is very organized. You give the breakdown of the differences between the home kit, i.e. bug in kit vs these bug out kits.
