You don't realize what a beast Alexi was on guitar until you try to learn some of COB's "easier" songs and notice what a crapton of nuances and skill were actually in all of those riffs and solos. (That he played while also singing.)

Much respect for attempting anything Alexi wrote. Dude was insane.

Met Alexei at a show in Saskatoon, didn't want to bother him for a picture but he could tell I wanted one, he was the one to initiate it. Was very friendly, and seemed to manage to smile the entire time he spoke to us. An hour later, they absolutely destroyed the stage. He was one of the good ones

Alexi really was right up there with his guitar playing and song writing. Definitely pushed his own crazy levels all the time.

Makes me sad that we'll never get a "coffee with Ola" episode with Alexi.

Man was a tight riff writer, crazy solos too!

These Ola Learns episodes are so good for my self-esteem and shit. It's like, "Oh okay, even the pros struggle a bit when they learn a new riff"

The fact that he’s learning by ears is impressive. Most people still struggles with tabs and video lessons. Now imagine playing all that while screaming the whole entire set.

I'm from Finland and this is huge honor that you did this video. Thanks! CoB was very successfull band in the world and Alexi was many people model, including mine too. May he rest in piece, he's watching and encouraging us from edge of the cloud❤️🤘🏼

Alexi was insane, he was able to play all this and SING AT THE SAME TIME. That dude was an amazing musician, the world actually lost someone incredible.

R.I.P Alexi Laiho, one of the true legends of his era.

It warms my heart whenever somebody pays respects to CoB. They're one of my favorite bands since childhood. Thank you Ola!

RIP Alexi. Very fluid guitarist. Missed by all. Thank you Ola! 👊

Not just Alexi's mechanics but his musical intuition. That group wrote some amazingly musical, technical pieces. 🤘🤘

Imagine also singing while playing that, its absolutely mindblowing, nice playing as always Ola!

The fact that he could play all this while doing vocals and doing both flawlessly is fucking insane

This is inspiring stuff. I've previously felt like I should quit when it comes to learning shreddy stuff but this is reminding me how hard it is. Alexi did not fuck around at all lmao

This not only shows how crazy Alexi’s songwriting was, but also just how *massively* underrated Roope Latvala is as a player.

Ola seems to really like those Solar guitars. He should see if he can get a sponsorship deal with them.

Saw CoB live in the early 2000s. Was at a small club in Columbus, Ohio and I was front row. Alexi blew my mind that day and I was a fan ever since. I've seen a lot of bands live but the pure talent by all of them was unmatched.

This reminds me of 16 year old me learning Bodom songs every day for hours after school. leering all the songs and solos really shaped me as a player.
