My sister toured Waverly Hills. She said that was definitely paranormal activity there. The scariest place I’ve been is my dad’s house. His parents built it, and early in the mornings we could smell breakfast cooking and heard the clanging of pots and pans. When we snuck down the stairs all was quiet and no one was there.

A friend of mine stayed overnight -- all alone -- in the Waverly Hills hospital (#24). He's interested in paranormal phenomena, and arranged to bed down for a night in the building. He didn't seem to suffer any scary experiences from staying overnight there. Still, it must have been eerie to be in that giant place by yourself. Or maybe _not_ by yourself!

Thank you! You've included sites I'd never heard of. And that is something, as I have been a 'fan' of the paranormal for decades; again thank you.

Years ago, I lived in Waterloo Iowa and used to go to a nearby KFC after school for fried chicken. One of my friends (who claimed to be a clairvoyant) went with me. As another friend worked there, we decided to eat inside and we could hang out while this friend was on break. But when we got to the door, my clairvoyant friend paused. She looked really uneasy and afraid. I asked what was wrong and she asked if we could get drive through instead. I agreed because she looked spooked. We got our food and I asked what was wrong. She said “I can’t explain it but there’s an evil presence about that place.”

A couple of years ago, I was listening to a podcast about John Wayne Gacey (a serial killer from Chicago, IL who was executed for murdering at least 22 boys and young men, burying them under his house). When the narrator mentioned that Gacey managed 3 KFC’s in the Waterloo area, I got serious chills. I did a little more digging and guess which one of the KFC’s was?

I called my friend and said “Hey, remember when you got really spooked at the KFC that day?” She said yes and I said “I found out why.”

Strange, dark and mysterious delivered in list format! I finally visited Waverly Hills last year. My great-grandma was a patient there and survived. The sense of sadness is a thing, or at least it was for me.

I'd love to visit the vicarage.
I grew up in a house with odd phenomena. Footsteps when no one was walking nearby, things moving on their own, cold spots...it wasn't scary, so much as interesting. So much we still can't explain. And when we moved out, it all stopped.😅

The most "haunted" place I have ever been to is Brag Road in Saratoga Texas. They say there is a ghost light. I lived close by as a child and we went every year at Halloween. There are some stories on it and also, there is an old cemetery that is covered by growth.

I got lost and drunk in Hoia Baciu forest maybe 6 times but I don't remember any strange things, maybe the alcohol shields you from paranormal stuff or maybe I'm just unwanted everywhere...

Most haunted place I've been Fort Polk, LA. Still feel the hopes, happiness, dreams, and since of life, of a lot of souls that got sent there.

I used to live in Baltimore back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Most of that city is haunted, probably more so now.

I was visiting an old civil war cemetery/ mass burial ground, as I approached the head stone of a Confederate Captian I got a bit of a chill, didn't think much of it, approached the same head stone a 2nd time and was scratched on the back of my neck... another experience I had was caught in a picture while hiking the Appalachian Trail. A pic was snapped of our group walking down the trail. In one of the pictures, there's a small man or boy standing off to the side of the trail, wearing dark colored pants, a long sleeved red and black stripped shirt and a wide brim black cowboy type hat, and in his hands you can clearly see a short barrel shot gun
