Hi Rich, many thanks on giving so much of your time and knowledge into these tuts.
I just recently got into cryengine and let me tell you that if it wasn't for you and these tut's i'd of given up hope long ago, but you have made my adapting to cryengine and 3dmax nice instead of frustrating. many many thanks!! keep up the good work and you have another subscriber watching you closely :) by the way my family say hi too, they hear you voice more than mine recently haha

thanks I'm already on it. I must say (if i can say so) I'm pretty good at drawing on paper but 3Dmax is something new for me.

Really appreciate your tutorials as I have my first 4-wheeled vehicle working in the engine now and I'm currently trying to make better models.

Again thanks really appreciate your work.

No worries! I just found it out how to install the plugin yesterday! XD
The plugin come with the Cryengine SDK, the folder (from the Cryengine 3 root) is called Tools. The file is CryExport, there are many different numbers depending on the version (example "CryExport14_64" is for 3ds max 2012 64 bit). Copy and paste it in 3ds Max 2012\plugins folder. When you open 3ds max, it will ask you the Cryengine FOLDER ROOT, just browse it and select the folder. The shader now should be available ;)

@KillerSneak no problem, 3ds max display and system units need to be CENTIMETERS, and when ever you make a change to the transform of your objects you need to reset xforms. but remember you can not reset xforms on linked or skinned objects. It will surely let you do it but it will come out all wrong in cryengine and possible in 3ds max as well. so make sure you are done with the transforms before you start linking and skinning. and before you start skinning and linking reset your xforms :)

Hi Richmar. Does it matter if you have attached parts to your main chasis? I have a Jeep I modelled that is made up of 18 components that are attached (not linked to the body. I followed all the info in this tutorial but my car won't go forward. Also the body was set to 0, 0, 0 and Reset x form was done before exporting.

Mate it's nice tut... but can't wait for more about cars!! First of all damage system best will be real time but also assets change will be cool /part1 =>damage part1 with collision detection/

And of course "massbox" must be same size or near same size like a "body". And one more thing you put the mass 30000 kg that is way to much, cars from real life have from about 800 kg to 3000 kg so you figure out your self how much is 30000 kg. Excellent tutorial!!! Sorry for my bad english.

Z key zooms/centers all views to selected objects, and you can also select all objects and reset xform at the same time ;)

Thanks for your effort creating and uploading this video!! Made some things clarified.

Did not watch untill the end. Did you figured out, in vehicle editor massbox has a position parameter. Massbox means a reduced object of all the objects within your mycar. Te cause of falling over maybe that your massbox's position (center of mass) is away from the center of geometry it will fall over with a 3500 kgs mass

Thank YOU! Like A LOT!) I was doing the tutorial from the "Cookbook" and just got stuck. This video helped me get out of checking the code again and again)

aahhhh yes, that happened to me recently. the problem is a corrupted cryengine plugin. to fix this uninstall the cryengine plugin and then reinstall it. if that doesn't work use an older plugin. the plugin from build 3.3.7 is the most stable one in my opinion. but then again the new 3.4.3 build just came out. so if you don't have the new build try that. hope this helps my friend :)

Please turn your mic volume up, even at max I can barely hear you.

Edit: enabling Loudness Equalisation on my speakers fixed it, but I'd still recommend turning up the mic, even so.
