I remember once one of my aunty got Windows phone those days, honestly saying the speed & camera was very fast & better but lack of customization & difficulties about finding aps push it to failure. & yes I remember the android x series launched by Nokia, that time Nokia was counting their last breath

How can someone dislike video before it is uploaded?

I had bought 2 Windows smartphones. The phones were good, but there were no basic apps like banking apps. Developers focused on iOS and Android apps, but didn't make Windows phone apps. Even YouTube had to be watched on a browser as Google didn't allow Windows to make a YouTube app. Sadly, I had to move to Android.

I guess MS is trying to re-enter the mobile market with much better strategy thanks to Sathya Nadel. And why I think so, here are my observations:
1. Windows 10 for ARM processors.
2. Windows 10 always on feature.
3. Windows Andromeda - MS handheld PC device experimental project.
4. MS extensive support for development of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) in collaboration with Google and Mozilla.
5. Listing PWA on Windows store.
6. Windows 10 Only desktop OS which is touch enabled.
7. Surface lineup.
8. Universal Windows Platform (UWP) - One app for all devices.
9. Windows support for development of React Native and Angular Native cross platform native apps which can run on Android and iOS (and Windows in future) as JavaScript is platform independent.
10. Making C# and .Net opensource. Making C# and .Net core cross platform (Windows, Linux, Mac).

I can see Microsoft gradually and silently creating the whole ecosystem first which will make it much easier for them to re-enter the mobile market. Microsoft under Sathya Nadela moving in right direction.

I feel Windows was much better back in 2015-2016 than both iOS and Android and it was only app gap which made them lose. Grouped notifications, Live photos, Live tiles, offline Me Maps are some of the few features I liked the most which ultimately copied by first Android and then iOS. I hope they do come back.

Even if they give Windows Phone for free, I don't want the phones UNLESS the cameras are best in class.
