Just for context - climbing Everest is not cheap at all, it’s a significant amount of money often costing above 50, 000usd. If you aren’t able to get to the top then all that time and money is completely wasted. Also there are only a few small windows when you can make the climb due to the adverse climate conditions. So if those people rescued her life (which is very very difficult) they also didn’t make the climb to the top wasting all their time and money.

True. My husband climbed Island and Laboche a decade ago and had to purchase special global rescue insurance. Doesn't guarantee a body is retrieved, just that they'll try.

At this point in time and life, I'm convinced anyone attempting to even go to Mt. Everest most definitely is suicidal, and definitely has a death wish. So, if one goes there willingly, they asked for the hand that's dealt to them...IJS🤷🏽‍♀️

My friend just got back from Mt. Everest. Being in peak condition alone isn't enough thankfully their guid was really good because he almost didn't make it going down. It was even worst when the guid casually just points at the places where dead bodies remained because it was too hard to bring them back down.
