I catch myself often think about your videos and, even though I have notifications on for new videos, I still sometimes look for you in my subscriptions. Your videos are very comforting to me. So please, continue to get distracted! Whatever you want. I could watch that for hours. Your previous long video about the day on the farm was a blessing.

I had a similar experience! A set production manager emailed me about buying some of my artwork to go on the set of a bedroom for a Netflix series. I also was suspicious, but it turned out legit. They discovered me on Etsy as they were scouting for original artist. She said it was a show about an 'American family going through some struggles'. They sent the legal papers to use my art, then they purchased my art. I didn't hear anything for a year at least! then I found out it was for Santa Clarita Diet :D and my art appeared in the bedroom of the character Eric played by Skyler Gisondo. And they sure did use my art!

Congrats! I’m a set painter and started to make the shift from theatre to film work a few years ago and my second feature film just opened the Venice Film Festival and will be on Netflix later this year! Always exciting. I’m glad you were in it and even indirectly mentioned in the script. That’s great.

I gotta now see this movie! Especially how at your “lowest” thinking you wouldn’t be in it and how all those feelings came flooding back and the character in the movie seems to be in the same head space as you and then “BOOM” there you are…. I’m intrigued and want to see it now.
I think the hardest thing to overcome is emotional childhood trauma. And to not let that “little person” inside that’s stuck emotionally rule how we feel about ourselves as adults is hard. But once we give them a voice and let them be heard as adults they seem to quiet down. I was the kid nobody wanted to sit by….we were poor and definitely looked down upon and made fun of. But I made it and I’m better for all the mistreatment because it made me self aware of how I make others feel. And I’m careful to not treat others as I was treated.

I was involved in a documentary that was submitted to film fest, etc. I had a similar experience—it seemed sketchy, but it was legit. I now have an IMDB page from it lol 😂 my only film. I didn’t get paid at all. But I have weird memories to cherish.
