To dodge Washington’s heavy tariffs on exports from China to the US, some Chinese manufacturers are relocating their production lines to Southeast Asian countries. One example is Guangzhou Yakeda Outdoor Travel Products Co, which has moved most of its production facilities to Myanmar. The company is not alone. Over 12 months ending April 2019, Myanmar has approved Chinese projects worth about US$585 million.

These factories are not moving to the USA so the overall trade deficit with the rest of the world remains the same.

Made in china used to be avoid...now made in China is preferred. I highly doubt Burmese quality control is where china QC is at which took them a few decades to get to.

Chinese factories were already moving out of China to SEA way before the trade war started. The trade war only accelerates the expansion of Chinese companies into the SEA market. The trade war helps China to move out low skill & pay to SEA while they take on more advanced manufacturing.

If China alone made it hard for jobs to return to the US, adding Vietnam, Indonesai, Myanmar will make it easier, yeah right.

This is possible only if they can sell. There is a collusion between manufacturer n buyer.

They should be made in the U.K. My computer is made in Scotland. My Dewalt drill is made in England, and so is my TV.
