I hate when people tell me that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I was a kid. I didn't need to be stronger. I needed to be loved, because now I have a hard shell, trust issues, my only standard is getting hugged, and it's gonna take me years to heal "back to normal", not that I even really knew what that looked like for me.
Check on your strong friends. A lot of the time, they're holding everybody else up because it's what keeps them together.
