I once had that mentality…
“Forgive the people that hurt you”.
I had a very bad mom during my childhood.
Every time she had done something towards me, I forgave her. I thought that one day, she would change and realize the harm she had caused me and my siblings. And every time, she went and did it again.
It wasn’t till I was 14, did I finally realized after my mother told me that she was fully aware of what she was doing, did I know she couldn’t change.
I’m gonna relay some advice that you can or might not listen to.
If someone hurts you, it’s alright to give them a second chance if they ask for one. But if they hurt you again. Walk away. It’s not worth having your trust constantly betrayed.
