I just picked up the GNU as my first board. 10 days over 2 seasons, always on rental equipment, is all the experience I have. I don't want bad habits, I just want to have fun. After watching numerous videos on beginner boards, it seems to me there is no "best" beginner board. I got the gnu because of price and I like the graphics 👍

Always loved the Raygun. Only problem is getting them back from my beginner-intermediate friends. But at least they want to ride more.

Just got a Ride Agenda! So keen for my snowboarding trip 2024. I was told the Ride is such a great load of fun until the intermediate - advanced stage which is perfect for my next few seasons I'm sure

Fully described my first camber board!

And yet beginners will still buy the Orca or Custom because their friend told them it was good. Big difference between “good” gear and the “right” gear.

Got a pathfinder on sale end of last season and it's perfect as a low level intermediate, glad I went with the traditional camber as well. All of my friends that tried it like it too. In Avran we trust.

I bet Stiff Whiteman has a room that looks like NORAD in WarGames with your videos up on each monitor at any given time.

I bought the GWO and B-Nice as beginner boards, specifically for the forgiveness of the rocker profiles. We also have a Bataleon Blow as a beginner board. It has camber, but the 3BT makes it less likely my family catches an edge. These are all twins or asym twins because I feel that anyone that is learning should also be learning switch at the same time.

Bro I did in fact date a girl named crystal. Shots fired. You were right about her. Hahaha

Best advice I could ever give to a beginner would be stay off rental equipment, it will just frustrate you and probably end up hurting you. Buy a decent first kit to learn, and get good boots that fit you properly.

I listened to your advice and stayed away from Never summer and bought a Nitro prime board. Thanks for the video and being angry.

Trying to decide between raygun and agenda, only been a few times. Able to do runs linking my turns on green and probably easy blues without falling. Not as interested in park yet but might be as I get better. Thanks!

Avran,

Big fan of the channel, great content, glad it's finally monetized for you. Do you ever post any videos of you riding?

Curious what board you'd recommend. I'm a beginner, rented last season, live in Northeast and ride at small Mom & Pop Mountain (Masthope, PA). I'm 43 years old, 6'2 about 235 lbs with a size 14 sneaker. Trying to lose 20lbs or so before next season. I get to ride about 15 days/season, would like to do more but tough with 3 kids.

I was looking at these boards:

GNU GWO BTX - 159W or 162W (would the smaller size be easier to turn on?)
Capita Pathfinder Reverse - 162W
Burton Instigator - 160W

Any preference on your end?

Much appreciated.
