I am 20 years old now. The first time i watched this movie was maybe in 2020 when i was 16 during the pandemic without any english subttitles. Even though i couldn't understand, the eyes and expression of these actors were more than enough to make a deep effect in my heart. I still from time to time comeback to this movie. The beauty and purity of the love between Jeanne and Werner would be much more even if there were any dialogues between them. A gem of a movie. I am glad that i came across it. Indeed the silence of the sea is calming. Lucky are those who have experienced such love in their lives and in my generation it is no where to be seen. This is one of the best romance stories during the Occupation ! It is so simply told by the facial expressions of the couple without having to say a single word. Indeed it is so tastefully done that it doesn’t need sex and profanity to tell the story. My praise for the producer and director who made this movies. The emotion is tremendous !

What a tragic, heart- breaking story about two enemies and two human beings with noble, pure, souls, tormented, by the terrible circumstances and despite them, falling in love...Their "silent" love was a genuane love, which doesn't need words, because all has been said and revieled by their eyes! And this magnificent movie - is an inarguable proof of that! This movie is the highest form of dramatic art. Most of the "love stories" I've seen before seem now so insignificant and shallow in comparison with this one. Two leading actors are brilliant! Thank you for posting this gem!
