Suite Française | Bruno & Lucille ♡

This is one of the most beautiful world war II romance movies that i've watched! It took me a while to make this video because I had no Idea what song would fit nicely in it but fortunately I found it!
The movie is based on a novel written by by Irène Némirovsky, a French writer of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. In July 1942, having just completed the first two of the series, Némirovsky was arrested as a Jew and detained at Pithiviers and then Auschwitz, where she was murdered, a victim of the Holocaust. The notebook containing the two novels was preserved by her daughters but not examined until 1998. They were published in a single volume entitled Suite française in 2004.

He was so gentle and loving. I love this movie so much. Sadly it is more common than not for men to be forced into the military at war and they have to do what they are told even if they disagree or don’t want to. It’s a cruel world, but little stories like this shows how poweful love is even amidst chaos and despair.

This movie was based on a book that was left unfinished after the writer was killed in a concentration camp during world War 2. Along with the book were also published notes of the writer, in which she declared that she didn't intend for Lucile and Bruno to end up together after all. This made me rewatch the movie under a whole different perspective. Still, heartbreaking

I guess that the fact that this is kind of a true story back in those time. As relationships like this were happening and they were usually separated by death at the end, makes it so much more emotional! I loved it !

My goodness! This movie gave me an excruciating pain that I've never felt from my entire life watching sad tragic lovestory in a movie. Why didn't this two ended up in the end?! Why?! To sum it up, the actors were brilliant and exquisite in playing their roles as Bruno and Lucille.

It is a sad and yet beautiful story. She is able to pull the good out of him in a time when so much hatred and pain surrounds them both. She sees what others don't and loves him for it. He is able to lift the burden of loneliness, fear, and helplessness from her. What he gives her is courage; opportunity of what is worth fighting for and loves' honesty. The story is so beautifully detailed in this song and video.

I always love this version and the song. I have watched this movie a couple of times, I love the Piono tune so much, the beautiful expression of love without much spoken words. This movie will always have a special place in my heart due to the Hero character in uniform reminding me of some personal memories.
