VST in an Ableton drum rack, the quick way and the good way.

VST drum machines, like the Roland cloud 808 and 909 sound great and very tweakable. However, it took me one hour to figure out how to nicely integrate them into an Ableton Live drum rack, i.e. having separate outputs per drum, choosing the positions and colours of the pads on Push, and having the right names for the drums in the "piano roll", on the tracks and on Push. I wanted to share this with you, so that you can do it in 5 minutes. Hope it helps!

for all those who are having trouble with finding drum rack underneath the midi to tab within the external instrument, you need to use the VST2 version not the VST3 version, then it should work <3

Nice one man ! I see you have the push, are you able to control the different knobs by type of drum from the push ? I wonder if you can do macros to kick knobs, snare knobs etc… and modify it live from the push

When I try to MIDI To Drum Rack on the External Instrument, the Drum Rack does not appear as an option in the dropdown menu.
