Americans Are Being Deported From Mexico!

Did you know that Americans are being deported from Mexico? It’s true — admittedly not in the numbers that ICE is deporting individuals back to Mexico, but it’s still happening. American citizens are apparently overstaying their visas south of the border and spreading dollars, which are having an inflationary effect locally. No word on whether they’re smuggling fentanyl into Mexico, however.

Jimmy covers this surprisingly “world upside down” story.

I grew up in San Diego, and thanks to Mexico I was able to get affordable healthcare and prescriptions. Never paid more than $10 for medicine that would cost 10 times that in the US. That's probably next, because thousands upon thousands of Americans cross their border to take advantage of their healthcare system every year. Crazy how Mexico took better care of me than my own country.

Fine by me. Mexico has a right to defend its sovereignty, but they need to remember that when we do it.

Edit: I have no idea why this comment has gained so much attention. It was honestly one of the most banal statements I ever made. Glad to see so much good discussion though. Too bad youtube censored so much.

Mexico will now build a wall. It will be a great wall, a very very wonderful and beautiful wall.

I am American living in Central Mexico. I applied and received permanent residency. There are very few foreign nationals in the city I reside. BUT, many Americans, Canadians, etc live in San Miguel de Allende, Ajijic/Lake Chapala, and Mexico City neighborhoods. The Mexican peso and economic report in the video is misleading (Google peso vs dollar for the past 10 years). The economic impact of foreigners is limited to isolated communities. Mexico has been more forgiving of overstayed visas in the past. Those deported are because Americans overstay their visas or temporary residencies. The US should do the same. Soveign nations have laws.

Americans are taking control of their lives and moving out of the country - not just out of California.

I’ve heard this before. Rents and food prices have gone up. Many Americans are living there because they can now work from home.

So it's called "colonizing " when Americans move to Mexico. So now we can say the same thing about the "Newcomers "...

As a daughter of a legal Mexican immigrant, I find this so hypocritical of them when some, not all, call Americans who want our border to be secure and to build a wall “racists” and “bigots”.
Mexico doesn’t give free handouts to immigrants, legal or illegal!

If country leaders actually did their damn jobs, we wouldn't have all this mess!

How far has America fallen, if they're deporting Americans back to the US.

Go to them it's "colonizing",
them to us it's "diversity". Riiight.

It's never racism when 'people of color' complain.
The issue of illegal immigration and the negative
impacts have nothing to do with racism. It's not
racism by the Mexicans or the Americans. It's
all about looking out for the people of your country.

I am an American who lives in Mexico City among the locals. My friends talk a lot about housing prices being driven up by foreigners (Americans, Europeans, etc.) who have moved in. So... yeah, not surprised.

I wish our government would do the same

If Mexico is deporting US citizens is it considered racist?
Or is it only racist when US does it?

So 250, 000 Americans can throw their entire economy out of whack but we're supposed to support 30 million of theirs ? They're kidding right

I was in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. The central park was packed with retired Americans. The housing prices are too high there.
