First time in physical therapy after a total knee replacement. This patient had AMAZING range of motion for being only 15-days post op. Minimal pain and swelling. Most patients don't look this good at 4 weeks. It is impossible to know what the recovery following a total knee replacement will be like.

Thanks for posting this "good recovery" story. I looked at my rtkr knee diary, I got around on bike at day 16 po and started to alternate going up stairs. I was alternating coming down by day 19. Very little swelling. At 7 wks mowing lawn, biking, hiking - my bad left knee sets my activity level, I rarely think about new right knee.

The huge improvement in quality of life is worth the time and effort that goes into every quick or lengthy tkr recovery.

I was able to get the X10 machine in my home, insurance covered it and I was at the full range of motion by the end of 2 weeks. I will use it again for the next knee replacement. It is a marvel!
