When I was stationed on Oahu in the Coast Guard, back in the 70's, my wife worked at Sears in Ala Moana Center (next to Waikiki). We were both blown away when they put winter coats out for as you mentioned...the slight less temperature, combined with some rain can make you feel cold even in Hawaii...although to us, not cold enough for a winter coat (being from Colorado)

I was camping in Kauai for a month back in 2011. Great island, met lots of people on the beach campsites and made friends. It was in March and the weather was awesome. Roosters waking up people at the beach campsite at 4am was a highlight 😅 I walked the famous trail along the Napali coast all the way to the waterfall and mismanaged the time so I was forced to go through the muddy cliffs at dark half way through on thecway back. Completely exhausted I came back to my car and slept in the car right away. What an adventure.

Amazing beach, it looks so clean and hardly any people, I would definitely choose Hawaii over Florida for a vacation ( sorry if I offended anyone)

Such a lovely area. I did not realize that Larsen's Beach in Kauai was dog friendly, thought dogs were not permitted on the beach there. They must have lifted that restriction.

What a great beach day. That water was so beautiful and clear. Gorgeous weather, loved seeing the seals and turtles. So far hitchhiking is really working out. Must be nice to come back and chill at that nice resort. Oh and the eggs you cooked looked delicious!❤️

I just got back from 2 weeks on the Big Island. What other place on earth can you see an active volcano erupting, see Manta Rays, world class reefs and snorkelling accessible from the shore, 9 different climate zones, great sportfishing, surfing was great with North swell; all accessible from a direct flight from Vancouver and all major West coast cities in USA.
Using my Marriott points for 5 free nights at the Westin Hapuna Beach because its sister property (Mauna Kea) was already sold out for next Christmas.
