Love Maui but 10 days a couple years ago was a bit much. Honolulu is also nice but not as beautiful as Maui.

While it's nice for such places to exist (in the mind at least), speaking as someone who lived there for a short time, this is NOT what it is really like. If you are determined to have a short, great time and have money to make it happen, you can approach this, but you could do the same thing _anywhere else_ . The only thing Maui and HI in general has that's special is the air and water temperature. That's nice, but it only goes so far. So, don't, like me, watch all the fabulous videos about exotic places (like Maui) and then go there expecting that's what you're going to find. It just ain't so.
