We used to do this with cars back in the old days. Called it a Top End cleaning.

Im a small engine equipment mechanic. Best to remove the carb and clean it. Can get a carb rebuild kit for 10-$15. Can of carb choke spray $4. Not hard to do.

Those overhead cam subaru's are great little engines.
You can get pretty much the same effect with one tsp of automatic transmission fluid.

Now, I'm no mechanic, but I'm pretty sure you can't just "make an engine better" by spraying stuff into it.

Spray carb while running. Once it starts to bog down turn off ignition spray untill engine is stopped!!
