Games were optimized for gpus like the gtx 10 series, but now they have had updates and had to be changed for newer generations

1. 1080Ti is a legend and 2. for upgrading from an older GPU the GTX 1000 Series and the RTX 2000 Series are the best cause most old PC's are stuck on PCIe 3.0 and those generations are the last ones with PCIe 3.0

Ah yes, just ignore that the A770 draws 25W less and has 7GB more VRAM. Also what about price? A770 can be bought for $300 new... while the 1080 Ti can only be purchased used.
