I use sketchbook. It's quite big; can't carry all the time. But I keep in mind if any idea strikes in my mind and draw or write in my sketchbook when I come back.

The Rotring mechanical pencils are great, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $50 for the retractable one (i'm cheap AF). I got the Rotring 600 pencil for $25 and repurposed a cap from a cheap BIC stick pen, which fits it perfectly to protect the tip and keep it non-stabby. Just have to be careful not to lose the cap while using it because it doesn't post on the tail end.

Will, quick question, is it ever beneficial to have two different levels of detail in the same logo? For instance, if you wanted to take the Twitter Logo and blow it up to a larger size but add more inset detail (show individual feathers or whatever)?
