Oh my gosh. I found you when looking for cinder block raised bed ideas. Yours was… the classiest I’ve found, and totally inspired us. Now I’m looking at more of your projects, absolutely subscribing to your videos. You are WONDERFUL! You need your own TV show. Seriously. I’m already addicted, inspired, so happy I found your videos. Keep them coming! :)

We own a construction company and do this everyday. You all did a great job. It's a nice touch and turns a boring porch into a nice little play area for small pups. I like it.

Really looks good, I like the way you held the panels. The gap give it a lot of character.

Looks good. We are putting up railing now. And this is what I told Tyrone my BF that I wanted to do. Love it!

Looks great! Because my deck is 36" I'll have to use the 2x2" square livestock panels but you have me a great ideas for how to put it together without breaking the bank. Thank you!

Looks great. Are you going to stain or seal the wood?

if you place 2 frames together then staple to on end the lift the second panels end up on a block and staple it, then take the block out, then push that end down and it will stretch the fencing tight so you can staple the rest. it will take out the wave and will not have any give to the fence after that.

I'm thinking of doing thos for my garden fence. How much did this whole project cost?

Good job. Most people won't know how to stretch wire so here are 2 solutions.
1. The easier of the 2 is done after the panel is completed. Using a set of square nose pliers, pick a vertical.section of the wire close to either side. Grab the horizontal wire in that vertical section and gently twist to create a small "z" or controlled kink in that wire. You will immediately see the tension increase. Do this on every horizontal wire in that vertical section. Check you're overall tension. If needed, go.the opposite side of the panel and repeat the process. DO NOT over tighten as this may cause your wire to pull loose or deform the shape of the panel.
2. With your panel on the ground flat.
Make the wire panel about 6 inches longer than needed. Pull it tight then attach a 2 x 4 to the longer side. Be sure to attach the 2x4 about 1/2-1 inch shorter than the end.of the existing frame. When you rotate the 2x4 back and get it over the edge of the frame, you can use leverage to push the 2x4 down and stretch the wire taught. Secure where needed on panel, cut off excess and done.

looks great. only question is why leave a 3" gap on both sides of the panel instead of running the panels from post to post?

This method would probably not pass code a kid could fall threw it seeing it held on with staples. It's a good idea and looks nice

Great idea! I'm wondering, now that you've had it for a few years, how it's holding up to the sun/cold through the years? Any cracks or chipping in the "poultry wire" ?? : )

How would the design or materials change for a deck that is 48" above the ground?

It looks beautiful, nice clean look. One question, will this type of wire rust over time?

Great video. I love getting ideas about how to make things that are good but inexpensive. I was looking for ideas for my daughter who is buying a house with a deck similar to yours and they want to see the view through it but don’t want to break the bank. They also have a toddler that they don’t want to do a header off of it. I don’t think we have that type of chicken wire here, but it gave me ideas to price out for her. I’ll subscribe. From Canada
