Was diagnosed at 23. It all makes sense now but I wish I would have known so I didn’t feel so broken when I was a child.

I was 61 before I was diagnosed. I’ve seen 6 different psychiatrist over 40yrs (C-PTSD) it never came up once. I realized after reading about ADHD that it explains a lot about my life. I Brought the info to my new doctor, he agreed) I’ve also diagnosed myself with Autism (it’s about $5000.00 in Canada to have a diagnosis) between the two it explains my whole life! Thanks for all the work you do 😊

I have ADHD, as a man, and I’m not super hyperactive, I’m well organized, but what I do see being amplified to the greatest extent are my emotions, ADHD paralysis, and forgetfulness

I'm hyperactive, but in my mind. I usually think of 3/4 different things at the same time. That leads to exhaustion and deep sense of overwhelming

I think it’s important to recognise that men can present as inattentive too despite it being less common. No one should miss out on a diagnosis due to stereotyping regardless of gender.

And also you can have both!! Dr Tracey explains very well in depth in the full vids. Adhd requires time and effort, including yourself to adjust, learn and take things in at a decent pace. Each of us are different and what makes us unique. Very much should also still be a good sign to look out for our close ones, friends and family if anyone are as well. I try to see if they could be helped just like I did and still am

Don't forget there a 3 types of ADHD. There's the inattentive type as well

Unfortunately my insurance wont pay for me to get evaluated and its EXPENSIVE in my state. I know I have either ADD or ADHD but it would be great to have an official diagnosis.

Hey, as a guy with inattentive ADHD, what you're describing is my experience and what many inattentive folks deal with. I know, statistically, more women are inattentive, but so are the majority of late-diagnosed individuals in general. So, I know it helps women to get this information brought to their attention, but calling it female ADHD isn't helpful

In Northern Ireland the waiting list for Autism and ADHD diagnosis for children is now 6 years. As an adult, I was told there are no diagnostic routes to follow.

It’s such a shame this isn’t as known as the overall stereotype for adhd

I was diagnosed with ADHD last month. I’m a 59 year old male. I never acted out. I was never disruptive. I know there are clinical observations regarding gender differences and ADHD, but we all do not fit into easy categories. Moving away from the male/female binary would help people like me be accurately diagnosed earlier in life. It’s frustrating knowing that being male likely played a part in many clinicians not recognizing my disability.

That is a very colourful outfit for someone who is giving such serious advice! 🎉 hooray for colour, hooray for the diagnoses of society

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a girl, and it was way more about the fact that I could never sit still, and if I tried to sit still, I would kind of twitch and make small noises that I couldn't control which led people to think I had tics since all they saw was the twitching but they were wrong

Can someone's ADHD rear up, and be worse at some times, more than other times? Sort of like a spiral into impulsive or bad behavior, later slowing down and going back to what it usually is?

I feel overwhelmed because my life is overwhelming....so it's not "easily". I dont think half the people diagnosed, have it.
