WTF! This worked so well and so quickly in my kitchen sink. To get all the baking soda flushed down the drain, I poured the vinegar diluted with water a total of 3 times until there was no more baking soda visible in the garbage disposal. Then a final flush with hot water and success! Thanks so much for posting this. It saved me an expensive visit from the plumber. 💚

It worked!
My kitchen sink gurgled so loud. It could wake the dead.
I used hot tap water instead of boiling water because my pipes are plastic and just filled the sink up while I waited on the baking soda and vinegar to finish reacting.

It worked for my kitchen sink.

I modified it slightly.

I used 1/2 cup of baking soda.

I used about 2 cups of hot vinegar. I did NOT dilute vinegar - half-and-half - with water.

The hot water prior -
the putting the plug in - for 10 minutes - and the hot water after where the trick.

I know that - because I had initially tried hot vinegar - and baking soda - without your impeccable steps.

Boiling water is one of the most dangerous things you could put down your drainage system. It can cause pvc pipes to become unstable or even melt depending on how hot it is, it may also damage the seals. It may not hurt it the first 2 times but it will be fatal overtime.

This started happening to me yesterday... When I flush the toilet the right sink, a sink we rarely use, starts to gurgle. I will be trying this later today. I will report back.

Don't do this, it's so bad for your piping call the plumber if you don't know how to unclog it
