I still like a 5111 richard early game for his uses in pve and canyon. It can be tough to even farm barbs in kvk1 for a long time without a richard.

Alex comes at start of kvk 2 now since wheels are now selectable rather then fixed. He also comes in daily specials - same with YSG he comes in kvk 1 and in daily specials before kvk 2 so maybe even mid spenders can go for YSG/Alex since they work good as secondary when you can focus only 1-3 SOC commanders so you do need decent secondary commanders

I strongly believe that if you are a low spender/FTP you should max YSG, Zhuge and unlock Theo. If you put YSG behind a Richard 5111, Zhuge behind lohar and Theo behind Charles you basically have an infinite income of speedups and rss if you chain barbs.

I feel like Mehmed and Charles should be in Niche role, here are my arguments:
For Mehmed:
He can rally a low power city, he has skill damage bonus, deals nice damage when attacking cities, I feel like for a city 30-60Mil power maybe to 70M, you can use him with any commander, I like him and XY for low power city rally.
30% HEALTH, 30% skill damage bonus, 20% attack, nice AOE, he is great. He has a role in open field with Cav commanders, if you are a cav main, a strong then marches can be:
Nevsky and Joan, no questions about it
William and Saladin, yes and then
XY and Mehmed, they have too much attack, but like pop out a city, hit some active skills fast and come in, it does well.
For Charles:
At only 5, 5, 1, 1 and doube relic you have 75% of stats, 25% health, 35% attack and 15% defense, when you get active skill, damage increased by 30% and a shield.
You can pair him with let's say Scipio, if you are new in SOC then you have a bit of march speed, more stats, a lot of damage, just a damage dealing tank, we have too much hate on attack, it's a stat, it helps, so let's not hate on it too much. but yeah at 5, 5, 1, 1 you get so much tanky stats + he is amazing before KVK3, cuz most sculps are from gold keys, you don't need to spend gold sculps on him at all, so I think these 2 should get a niche role.
You can't drop sculps at appleflaps/Aethlehad, but, she can be in niche role, 800 damage factor a bit bad, but the debuff is so big and she gained march speed now from relic, you can give her a big role in a debuffing march, on my restart account I used Charles/Appleflaps, well more of a testing account, it worked well, it wasn't very slow, I had Charles expertised so he gained march speed, but yeah, he was a tank, both had relics on and I was going in to big murder balls, I hit a lot of targets with the big debuff and since everyone is also attacking, the opponents had a big problem when Appleflaps was hitting them with the debuff. So I think these 3 have a niche role. You get them so easily and they are great., These are my arguments and changes.
BUT, for no understanding, if you are a F2P Cav main, you shouldn't go for Charles relic, you go for Mehmed for health and skill damage bonus so him and Appleflaps, she is an amazing secondary commander. If you are Inf main, you can go for all three, but you need to have 1 thing in your mind, you need to save them, so make sure, cuz Charles is great, but you don't have relics to get all 3 on double relic.
Archer main shouldn't also look at Charles, they should go for Appleflaps, maybe wait for Tomyris relic if you invested in her, but to conclusions:
Changes: Appleflaps, Charles and Mehmed to niche role.
For archer, Inf and cav mains, go for Appleflaps first and Mehmed second no Charles, if Inf main, appleflaps first Charles 2nd, if you have relics, Mehmed, Cav mains can go for Mehmed 1st Appleflaps 2nd and save relics for Saladin if you have him, but don't start investing in him if you are in KVK3 or SOC. (Investment order for relics in museum)

What hurts is being an older player that just got the newest, you've used tons of sculptures on Alex, YSG, Ramses etc. When we got these guys over multiple months. Now they change it.

respectfully, i would absolute put saladin, alex, and YSG as just no, as a result of duration, and YSG being power crept out by a 5511 liang.

i would absolute have boudica as top priority, as she works 5551 with a liang 5511+ asa starter march.

additionally, one of the few commanders id keep as pre kvk3 only is actually mina and mehmed.

what people dont realize is by kvk3, a Mehmed is going to be 4111 to 5211 for most people from keys...its that slow; i just went through this. a 5511 2x relic is 100% viable as a secondary for 200 sculps, and expertise from keys is another 3 yrs. rushing him to 5511 to plug a SoC usable commander is a great investment

i dont think that joan prime is better than boudica, joan depends on her primary comander but boudica can pair really well with any archer comander
