In shop and office act, maternity leave rule is updated recently. Even for the third child or any number of children, 84 working days to be given as maternity leave.

As far as to my understanding, certain points are to be corrected.
1. Maternity leave is 84 for each birth.
2. Of course, as you say Annual leave entitlement depends on the quarter of the calendar year which the candidate joined. But, the 1st year of employment considers in two ways when compared with Shop & Office Act and Wages Board. Under Shop & Office, 1year year of employment would be the calendar year. Whether you join in January or December, 1year means until the 31st December of particular calendar year. However, under Wages Board, 1st year of employment means, completing one year from the date he/ she joined.

(01).Leave entitlement for private sector employees are Mercantile holidays. Not public holidays. Payment in lieu is 2.5 times (i.e. 1.5 + 1 days salary).
(02) To mean paid holiday singular word " Leave" is used ( Plural word "Leaves" gives a different meaning)

මේ video එකට thanks. මම digital marketing agency එකක work කරනවා දැන් මාස 2යි තාම. මට appoinment letter එකක් දුන්නේ නැ, epf etf දෙන්නේ probation period එක ඉවර උනාට පස්සේ කිව්වා . salary එකත් සැලකියයුතු ප්‍රමාණයක් නෙමේ. payslip එකක්වත් දෙන්නේ නැ salary දෙද්දී. Monday to Saturday work කරනවා. උදේ 8.30 ඉඳන් රෑ 8.30 වෙනකන් වගේ වැඩ ගොඩක් දවස් වලට. OT මුකුත් නැ. Public holidays වලත් වැඩ. පෝයත් වැඩ. මගේ personal pc එකේ වැඩ කරන්නේ. එයාල එකක් එව්වේත් නැ. data වලටවත් කීයක්වත් දෙන්නේ නැ at least. ඒවා නීති විරෝදී නේද? I should find a new place to work and leave this shitty place. It really stressing me out,

This video as well as the comments make for a really good account on how the law should be exercised in this country. BUT what if a slave driving employer simply terminates an employee ? how severe will the law be on the EMPLOYER ??, keeping in mind that untill legal resolution the employee is without a monthly salary.

How do we need to provide leaves for the Contractor, who is not a direct organization employee?

He/she is working under a job agency agreement and no direct agreement with the organization.

I am a permanent staff member at an organisation. Last month, my salary was deducted for four days of no-pay leave. My company deducted Rs. 20, 000 for those four days from my allowance, not my basic salary. Is this correct or wrong?
